01. Les Petits Montagnards: Early Creative & Motor Discovery

Designed specifically for nursery and early primary children on Wednesdays (08:30–17:30) and school holidays. Sessions alternate gentle outdoor nature walks around Jausiers with indoor painting, clay modeling, musical rhythm games, cooperative group storytelling, and quiet afternoon rest corners. 14 Weeks of Non-Commercial School Holiday Reception

During Toussaint (autumn), February (winter), April (spring), and July–August (summer) Zone B school breaks, ASSOCIATION VIVRE JEUNE A JAUSIERS expands operations at 7 Montée du Chastel to full-day thematic weeks running Monday through Friday from 08:30 to 18:00. Each week blends morning creative or scientific workshops with afternoon outdoor excursions in the Ubaye Valley, culminating in a Friday late-afternoon showcase where parents, siblings, and grandparents view children’s models, botanical notebooks, or short theatrical scenes.

To eliminate financial barriers to mountain outdoor activities, our association maintains a free Communal Outdoor Gear Locker stocked with youth hiking backpacks, compasses, rain ponchos, magnifying lenses, winter snowshoes, and warm mittens—funded strictly through public youth subsidies and reinvested member dues without any rental charge.

Supervision Ratios, Inclusive Welcome (PAI) & Weather Protocols

Every indoor workshop and outdoor walk operates under strict Departmental Youth Service (SDJES 04) safety rules. Certified facilitators carry complete field first-aid kits, emergency parental contact sheets, and two-way communication devices on all off-site footpaths. Prior to every outdoor departure, coordinators verify Météo-France alpine bulletins for the Barcelonnette–Jausiers sector; whenever thunderstorms, high winds, or extreme cold are forecast, a prepared indoor creative and athletic backup program activates seamlessly inside the Maison des Associations.

Practical Family Checklist for Wednesdays & Outdoor Days

To keep transitions smooth at 7 Montée du Chastel, we ask parents of enrolled children (ages 4–12) to pack a small labeled daypack containing a reusable water bottle, weather-appropriate outer layer (sun hat and mineral sunscreen in summer; warm fleece, hat, and waterproof gloves in winter), closed-toe walking shoes, and—for ages 4–6—a spare change of comfortable play clothes. Menus prioritize fresh Ubaye Valley apples and pears, whole-grain artisan bread from Jausiers bakeries, local dairy or plant alternatives respecting documented PAI allergies, and tap mountain spring water—eliminating ultra-processed individual wrappers while teaching children composting and everyday nutritional balance.
