Expanded Homework Mentoring & Quiet Reading Hours for Primary & Collège Pupils

Following feedback gathered during our September parent-educator roundtable in Jausiers, ASSOCIATION VIVRE JEUNE A JAUSIERS has added four new volunteer retired teachers to our Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 16:30–18:30 study-support slots. Rather than repeating classroom lectures, volunteers help pupils aged 6 to 14 organize their schoolbags, practice reading aloud in small supportive pairs, and use reference atlases and encyclopedias free from smartphone distractions.

Once daily assignments are completed, children transition into cooperative wooden board games, chess instruction, or quiet drawing until parents finish work in Jausiers or Barcelonnette. Consistent with our statutory non-profit mission, no private tutoring fees are charged; all membership fees and dues are fully reinvested in the association's public interest missions.

Winter Mountain Safety & Nutrition Cycle Co-Hosted with Local Health Educators

Preparing young people for alpine winter life means combining physical enjoyment with sound judgment and bodily care. Beginning in late November 2026, our Wednesday cohorts (ages 8–12 and 13–18) will take part in a four-session preparatory module before January snowshoe outings. Sessions cover layering clothing properly without expensive gear barriers (supported by our association’s shared winter-gear loan locker), understanding mountain hypothermia prevention, preparing energy-balanced trail snacks from local valley ingredients, and respecting wintering chamois and black-grouse habitats.

Families with gently outgrown children’s snow boots or waterproof mittens who wish to place them into the free communal loan locker at the Maison des Associations—or parents needing loaned winter gear for their child—are warmly invited to contact our coordination desk.

Water-Cycle Science & Historic Fountain Discovery Week

Across two sunny July weeks, forty-eight Jausiers youngsters traced how high-altitude snowfields feed village fountains, agricultural canals, and the Ubaye River. Ages 4–7 painted watercolor maps and tested floating-and-sinking experiments in courtyard basins, while ages 8–15 measured water temperature and pH alongside a visiting alpine hydrologist, learning why mountain water stewardship is vital during dry summer months.

How Our Field Chronicles Are Written, Verified & Shared with Jausiers

Zero Sponsored Content & Verifiable Field Reporting

Unlike commercial blogs or promotional newsletters, every dispatch published on this page serves strictly civic documentation for families, educators, and municipal partners in the Ubaye Valley. Reports are drafted collaboratively by our salaried youth facilitators, volunteer board members, and teenage reporters from the Espace Jeunes Chastel workshop, then verified by Publication Director Marc-Antoine Isoard prior to release.

We never publish sponsored articles, commercial brand placements, affiliate links, or fundraising appeals. Every metric cited—whether trail kilometers cleared, nesting boxes installed, or workshop hours completed—corresponds directly to attendance and project logs archived at the Maison des Associations, 7 Montée du Chastel, 04850 Jausiers.

Protecting Youth Privacy While Celebrating Collective Effort

Teaching young people aged 11 to 18 how to document community projects responsibly is part of our civic media curriculum. Teen contributors learn to focus on collective achievements, artisan know-how, and ecological observations rather than personal gossip or sensationalism. First names of youth participants appear in quotes solely with explicit parental and teen consent, and printed paper copies of our seasonal chronicle bulletin are placed free of charge in the Maison des Associations reading room so village elders without internet access can follow Jausiers youth initiatives throughout the year.

Consulting Printed Chronicles & Youth Exhibition Albums in Jausiers

Every field report and seasonal bulletin published digitally here is also compiled into bound archival albums inside the ground-floor reading corner at the Maison des Associations, 7 Montée du Chastel, 04850 Jausiers. Families, visiting municipal councilors, schoolteachers, and longtime Ubaye residents are welcome during weekday late-afternoon reception hours to browse twenty-five years of illustrated youth trail maps, dry-stone heritage sketches, and community cultural programs—celebrating an unbroken local non-profit tradition built by and for the young people of Jausiers.
